One cannot do peak climbing without experience and training of using professional equipment. The summits of Mera peak have kept box office sights. From here we can get a glorious view of five 8,000 m peaks i.e. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga. It will surely be exciting and interesting to climb Mera peak.
Our Mera Peak Climbing begins with a scenic flight to Lukla as we all know it is the main gateway of Khumbu region. From here we carry our materials and move to our destination. Our trial goes fully on rough on dense forest. Every day our steep leads us to high altitude. This may create a problem so we accumulate our self in a different place to match our self with the place. Unknowingly we reach on the summit of Mera Peak. Our every moment will be with us on camera. This will give a good flashback when we look at it. Like this or destination have completed. We will be full of joy in return. Our last walk ends at Lukla and from here we have a scenic flight to Kathmandu. This will end our trek.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu -1360M
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representatives from Everest Trekking Routes will welcome you. He/she will asset you and transfer you to the hotel for your overnight.
Day 02: Kathmandu Cultural Tour
Today, you will do a day tour in Kathmandu valley. In morning time you will visit Pashupatinath (oldest and holy Hindu temple), Bauddhanath (Buddhist temple is known as little Tibet), and Swayambhunath (monkey temple). Finishing this we return for lunch. After lunch, you will visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan Durbar square. In Kathmandu durbar square you will visit Kumari temple (temple of the living goddess).
Day 03: Kathmandu - Lukla - Chhutanga, 3450m
From early morning we begin our Mera Peak Climbing with an exciting morning flight to Lukla. It will offer us pleasures view of snowy mountain peaks during our flight. Within 35 to 40 minutes we land on Lukla, pack our baggage start walking to Chhutang. We follow the trail through rhododendron and pine forest. It goes for around 5-6 hours to reach Chhutanga.
Day 04: Chhutanga – Chhitrala – 4100m
Our today’s walk almost goes in the desert area. The places can be seen as very dry. No, any vegetation growing can be seen. It is a scenic journey of around 5 to 6 hours. Reaching on Chhitrala we’ll be able to see the Khumbu valley. We can see Mt. Makalu upfront us as we relax for the evening with a cup of coffee at our camp.
Day 05: Chhitrala – Tashing Dingma - 4000m
After having breakfast we continue our trail to Tashing Dingma. We get a number of steep ascents and descents. We need to cross a number of ridges before reaching Tashing Dingma. Our phenomenal goes for around 5 to 6 hours. We almost walk through lush forest and shrubland. We get good chance to see Langur monkeys in our route. Like this, we reach Tashing Dingma where we stay overnight.
Day 06: Tashing Dingma – Thaknak - 4350m
Having breakfast we continue our walk to Thaknak. In our trial, we get a number of steep ups and downs. We walk through beautiful scenic landscapes. This is the main region that tells why this trip is so gritty. After walking around 5 to 6 hours we arrive at a small herder’s village of Thaknak. Here we will set our camp for the night.
Day 07: Thaknak - Khare, 5000m
Our today’s walk leads us to Khare. It is also known as the base camp of Mera peak. This is a good trail that descends and ascends gradually. Then we cross the river. Again we climb uphill until we reach Khare. Our today’s walk goes around 5 to 6 hours. Here we set our camp to stay overnight.
Day 08: we haul up for acclimatization in Khare
Today is full day rest. The camping experience at Khare is something that cherishes throughout our life. We are pleased to view the beautiful North face of Mera Peak from our campsite. We get a chance to explore the local surroundings. It is simply to relax at camp and prepare for our ascent tomorrow.
Day 09: Khare - Mera La, 5400m
Taking breakfast we’ll leave base camp. We follow the trail which climbs for 1-2 hours leads us to top of the moraine. It is just above Khare. Before resuming the climb up a rough slope, we reach below lower of Mera glacier. From here we cross and climb to the right of the glacier. We need crampons for short climb to reach the plateau of the Mera La. We’ll rest here at our camp which is just below the pass.
Day 10: Mera la to Advance Base Camp - 5800m, 5-6 hours trekking.
It’s time to head to advance base camp. Here we’ll rest for the night. It’s a steep ascent of around 5-6 hours. It offers us wonderful views of the world’s highest peaks of Everest and Makalu, Lhotse and Cho Oyu. Kangchenjunga also stands in the very short distance. Here we bunk out in the amazing Himalayan location.
Day 11: Advance Base Camp - Summit Mera peak - 6654m, Rato Odar – 5100m
Today we’ll make a beeline to the summit of Mera peak. Climbing around 4 to 5 hours leads us to summit. We get a wonderful sense of achievement. Excellent views that stop the breath are offered from the top. We start a bit early. We enjoy the views of the highest peaks in the world from the summit. We capture this moment in our camera. Spending few precious time we descent to Rato Odar for our night. It means “red cave’’.
Day 12: Reserve Day for any unforeseen circumstances
There are no guarantees that we could experience good weather on our planned day. So this day is used as a contingency in case we are unable to reach the summit of Mera on day 13 due to any problem related with environment. Sometimes some member in the group may develop problems in acclimatizing. So this day is used in such conditions too. If the trip goes smoothly, we do not need this spare day.
Day 13: Khare to Kothe [3600m/11808ft]: 4-5 hrs
After the enormous success of expedition to Mt. Mera peak it’s time to return back. We descend through Hinku valley to Kothe for our overnight. We leave behind the outstanding Himalayan background and arrive at Kothe. In this night we can enjoy some local wines and delicious foods. We fully relax at camp.
Day 14: Kothe to Thuli Kharka - 5-6 hrs
Again today, we climb up about two hours. We walk through a forest of foliage on the west side of the Hinku Valley. It will be a nice walk on red Rhododendron forest. This is unbeaten trails of the Himalayas of Nepal. We can observe the wide range of Mera peaks, Mera South, Mera Central, and Mera North from Thuli Kharka. We will have a good night at Thuli kharka.
Day 15: Thuli Kharka to Lukla: 6-7 Hrs
Today is our last walk. We will have breakfast and continue downhill to Lukla. Two hours up from Thuli Kharka leads us to Zatrwa La Pass. Cho yu, Kongde peak, Number Himal, Kusum Kangaru are some peaks which we observe from the top of the pass. Crossing this pass we can observe Lukla valley. Reaching on Lukla we make confirmation of our flight, take a hot shower and start final trek celebration.
Day 16 Fly back to Kathmandu
We will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu. It will take about 35 to 40 minutes. We can enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding the plane. Reaching on Kathmandu, you can do last minute shopping in Kathmandu. At night we celebrate Farewell Dinner together with the trekking team.
Day 17 Final Departure for home
Now it’s time to say goodbye to the Kathmandu. Your journey in Nepal comes to an end today. You are transferred to the airport for your returning flight. Have a safe journey. Hope you will return back to Nepal again.
